The status of Mississippi State quarterback Tyler Russell for this week against Auburn is still in the air.
The senior missed the home opener for the Bulldogs against Alcorn State on Saturday, a 51-7 victory, due to a concussion he suffered in week one against Oklahoma State.
Sophomore backup signal caller Dak Prescott stepped in and got his first career start.
MSU head coach Dan Mullen wants to go with Russell, but has to wait for the doctor's reports.
"We haven't gotten our injury report (Sunday)," Mullen said on his Sunday teleconference. "We don't get that until late in the day. If Tyler's healthy enough to go, then he'll be playing quarterback for us. If not, then Dak will be playing quarterback for us."
