Earlier this season the Mississippi State Bulldogs were close to getting their first Southeastern Conference win of the season.
MSU didn't close the door on Auburn and the Tigers scored late in the fourth quarter to earn the victory.
It almost happened again Thursday night.
The Bulldogs held the Kentucky Wildcats on fourth down in MSU territory late in the fourth quarter to preserve a 28-22 victory for their fifth-straight in the series.
"That was a hard fought game," MSU head coach Dan Mullen said. "I give Kentucky a lot of credit. Mark (Stoops) is doing a great job with that squad."
