The Starkville-MSU Symphony Orchestra will perform for an usual group on Friday. The orchestra will perform for more than 3,000 elementary schoolers and their teachers in three, 30-minute Mississippi-music themed programs at First Baptist Church.
The program will feature Mississippi artists William Grant Still, Leontyne Price and Elvis Presley. There will be a performance of “Orange Blossom Special” in memory of Jimmie Rogers and special guests, Edward Miller and Derrell Brown, to perform Miller’s original composition, “Mississippi.”
