A slow start against Jackson State wasn't a reason to push the panic button for the Mississippi State women's basketball team.
Even though the Bulldogs trailed early 11-9 and 13-11, they shook themselves, got on track and went on to an 81-42 victory in front of 1,535 at Humphrey Coliseum Wednesday night.
"You take the first 10 minutes out because I know we bored just about everyone in the county to sleep," MSU coach Vic Schaefer said. "It's my fault because I think we had a little bit of hangover from the Houston game. I made that game so important to this team and we talked about beating Houston on the first day of workouts.
"After the Houston game, we had to come down from that high and to be honest, we were flat the last couple of days of practice."
