Santa will make a special stop in Starkville on Saturday to make pictures and eat one of his favorite desserts as part of the final day of Festival of Trees.
“Cookies with Santa” will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday as part of the final festivities of the 2010 Festival of Trees event at the Palmeiro Center on the Mississippi State University campus.
Tickets cost $10 and are being sold in advance today at the Greater Starkville Development Partnership office, or at the door.
Jennifer Gregory, chairman of the 2010 Festival of Trees event, said children and their parents will have a wonderful time at this special event.
“Bring your children to visit with Santa, and don’t forget your camera,” Gregory said. “This is a great opportunity to take photos of your children for Christmas cards in front of our extravagantly decorated Christmas trees!”
Ticket prices will include time with Santa, homemade cookies, face painting, and a special craft that Festival elves will help children create. And children will enjoy the train display as part of this year’s Gingerbread Village.
Geneene Saunders, chair of the Gingerbread Village, said people of all ages contributed to the village, and each creation is very special.
All of the proceeds for the Cookies with Santa and all of the events surrounding the 2010 Festival of Trees go to the United Way of North Central Mississippi.
