The town of Maben is getting ready to learn more about “The True Meaning of Christmas.”
That is the theme of this year’s Christmas parade, set for 6 p.m. today in downtown Maben.
Rob Collins of the Maben Chamber of Commerce said the town of Maben is honored to have Dr. Rick Young, president of East Mississippi Community College, serve as the grand marshall of this year’s event.
He said the East Mississippi Community College Marching Band will be one of the highlights of this year’s event.
But children throughout the area can’t wait to see Santa, who rode into Maben on a fire truck last year.
The Maben Chamber of Commerce will award prizes for the best three floats that showcase the theme of the parade.
Collins said free hot chocolate and Christmas gifts will be available for all attendees of tonight’s parade.
Float entries will line up near First Baptist Church on Second Avenue, and the parade will go through the downtown area.
For more information about tonight’s parade, contact the Maben City Hall office at 263-4212.
