East Oktibbeha County firefighters were called to 1801 Sessums Road for a house fire at 10:32 p.m. Saturday night. Upon arrival, they found the structure enveloped in fire and smoke, with most of the fire located in the right front of the structure. The fire quickly spread to the attic area and vented with flames devouring the entire roof structure. The East Oktibbeha firefighters were assisted by units from the District Five/Oktoc and Bell Schoolhouse Departments that brought manpower and operated a tanker shuttle for a continuous water supply. There was no one home at the time of the fire that was reported by a passerby. There were no injuries, although two dogs perished. The cause of the fire is being reviewed by the County Fire Investigator.
