Kosciusko business owner missing since last Thursday

KOSCIUSKO — Attala Fitness and Tanning owner and former drug store owner remains missing and not much information has surfaced in the case.
Vickie Ellington, 53, was last seen at the Louisville Wal-Mart Supercenter on Highway 25, where she had planned to meet someone on Thursday, Jan. 27. Her vehicle was found in the supercenter’s parking lot.
Tuesday morning the Attala County Sheriff’s Department and other local agencies began a grounds search at Ellington’s home on Attala County Road 5216.
Sheriff William Lee said the search of Ellington’s property was a planned step in the investigation and today’s search turned up nothing.
“We suspect foul play because we haven’t found her,” Lee said on Monday.
He added that they have been working on the case around the clock and have conducted many interviews.
Lee said a “be on the look out” was issued immediately after Ellington could not be found on Jan. 27 and she officially went into the missing persons’ database on Saturday night.
