Funeral services for Fredrick Douglas Mason will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 15 at East Sand Creek M.B. Church with Rev. Tommie Stallings officiating.
Burial will be at East Sand Creek Cemetery with West Memorial Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be today from noon until 6 p.m. with family hour from 6-7 p.m. at West Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Mason, 68, of Starkville, died April 7, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was retired from the military. He was a baptist. He was born in Oktibbeha County.
Survivors include seven children, Frederick D. Mason, Jr. of Sturgeon Bay, Wisc.; Angela R. McCowin of Davenport, Iowa; Julia Harris of Birmingham, Ala.; Angela M. Scales, Renardo L. Bradford and Conchita (Sedric) Rogers, all of Starkville; and Antonia R. (Georgia) McCoy of Arlington, Tenn.; three step-children, Carlos Young, Christine Robinson-Sutton and Cortina (Shon) Bingham, all of Starkville; five sisters, Bettye (L.C.) Brewer of West Point; Gloria Franklin, Patricia Mason, Brenda Brown, and Linda (Isial) Bonner, all of Starkville; two brothers, James (Betty) Mason of West Point and Thomas (Vanecca) Mason; and 12 grandchildren, Ashley, A'milah, Johnathan, Dennis, Jr. D'Angelo, Corlos, Zaleen, Kasavion, Adriyanna, Dakotah, Aubrie, and Dormoncha.
