Frank Eugene Cooper, 88, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville. He was a retired branch president for Regions Bank. His banking experience was in Columbus, Macon and Oxford. He was active in the Miss. Banker’s Association and was a member of Sigma Chi and a Rotarian. He served on various boards for the University Methodist Church in Oxford.
He is survived by his wife, Kaye Neal Cooper of Starkville; three daughters, Mary Beth Cooper Walden (Donnie) of Columbus, Elsie Cooper Dixon of Starkville and Paula Neal Hubbard (Michael) of Holly Springs, N.C.; a son, Stephen Clark Neal (Karen) of Bonaire, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Shanda Walden Sloan (Bill), Erika Rana Walden, Mary Martha Dixon Henson (Brian), Laura Ann Dixon Walker (Chad), John Cooper Dixon, Brandon Thomas Hubbard, Jonathan Blake Hubbard, Alicia Jeanette Neal and Grace Elizabeth Neal; one great-grandson and three great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alverne Nichols Cooper; his parents, Frank and Myrtle Cooper; and a brother, James Gerald Cooper.
Visitation is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Welch Funeral Home. Rev. Bob Whiteside, Rev. Prentiss Gordon and Rev. Scott Cappleman will conduct the service.
Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, in St. Peters Cemetery in Oxford.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Palmer Home for Children, Le Bonheur Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, SKW Family Services in West Point or to your charity of choice.
