The Mississippi High School Activities Association has allowed playoff bowling to come to Starkville.
The Starkville Yellowjackets host the Class II North Regional Tournament today at Bulldog Lanes and coach Jim Philamlee is excited about the opportunity.
"This is the first time it hasn't been in Tupelo since the beginning," Philamlee said. "We invited it and they accepted it."
Starkville, Tupelo, Olive Branch and Northwest Rankin make up the field for the action that begins at 10 a.m. The top two teams in the region go on to state.
Philamlee said the Yellowjackets "are doing outstanding" in junior varsity with a record of 15-1, but looks forward to seeing how the varsity squads perform in regionals.
