The East Webster Wolverines have a goal at today's Mississippi High School Association State Bowling Championships in Flowood.
If the Wolverines and Lady Wolverines are the last two teams standing, they like their chances of bringing home a title.
"That's our focus," East Webster bowling coach Christian Jones said. "Once you get to that, it's a clean slate and the best man wins."
After this week's preparation and practice Thursday at Fannin Lanes, Jones believes they have some momentum going into state.
The Wolverines finished second in the region, while the Lady Wolverines qualified as a wild-card.
"We're feeling pretty good coming out of regionals with the scores we had," Jones said. "The boys had a real good practice on Tuesday. We know some of our competition so it's going to be a good tournament."
Leading the East Webster boys are Joel Naron, Austin Raybourne and Brett Brock. Brooke Burton and Ashlee Davenport are the top girls.
"Those are our most consistent players and carry the team," Jones said.
