Langfitt WLBT "Farm Family of the Week" Exhibit

In 1990, Howard Langfitt donated his collection consisting of 342 television scripts and about 16,600 negative images from the television program "RFD Televisit." The program ran from 1954 to 1961, and featured farming families from Mississippi and parts of Louisiana. Langfitt was the host of the show as well as its scriptwriter.

Mullen press conference, Alabama week

At 1 p.m. today, Dan Mullen will meet with reporters for his weekly press conference. No. 20 Mississippi State hosts No. 3 Alabama on Saturday at 2:30 on CBS. MSU beat Missouri on the road last week while Alabama beat LSU at home.

Creepy Critters

Starkville Public Library will hold an Animal Tales program from 4-5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18th. The program about creepy critters-like arachnids, insects and snakes is open to everyone. Children age 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Blessings of the Animals

The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection will hold their service at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 4, and Trinity Presbyterian Church will hold their service at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 11. The community is welcome to bring their pets for the blessing - or a picture, collar, or other representation if not practical to bring your pet - and donations for OCHS will be collected.
