Eligible for the postseason: Titans, Timberwolves excited about playing full season of games

Two years ago the Oktibbeha County School District saw its two member schools accreditation withdrawn.
Now after steady hard work on the part of the students, faculty and entire community, East and West Oktibbeha find itself back on the accredited side of things.

It only seems right that East and West Oktibbeha County High Schools have full accreditation in its last school year.
In athletics, it means that the Titans and Timberwolves get to play full sports seasons with the chance for the postseason if they qualify. That wasn't the case last year and some athletes got to miss out on the experience because of the lack of accreditation.

Bulldogs report to campus today, preseason camp starts Thursday

The summer workouts have come to a close for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Now the time has come for them to report for fall camp.
After finishing last season with three-straight victories, including an easy 44-7 win over Rice at the Liberty Bowl, the Bulldogs are eager to get the 2014 season underway.

SA drops softball slugfest at home to Winston Academy

Starkville Academy returned to the softball field on Tuesday where despite posting five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Lady Volunteers fell 15-11 to visiting Winston Academy.
"They competed," SA coach Kayla Mosley said. "They came back in the last inning and they competed."
