Strange Brew Coffeehouse announced Monday afternoon that the locally-owned business will open a second location in the Midtown development on University Drive.

Strange Brew Coffeehouse owner Katelyn Reed said the second location will open before Sept. 1.

Reed said the expansion will create 15 to 20 new jobs, and hiring will begin at the beginning of August.

Reed said she is excited about the second location opening in Starkville.

"One of the reasons is we are busting at the seams at our first location," Reed said. "So we are really excited to have some more space, and to now be walking distance from campus."

Reed said the new location will keep their original coffee menu, and new items will also be added.

Strange Brew Coffeehouse's first store is located at 605 Highway 12, and offers coffee and espresso grown worldwide and roasted in Mississippi.

Strange Brew Coffeehouse features frappes, smoothies, teas, iced coffees and lattes, hot chocolate and caramel apple cider, along with pastries made from scratch.

Strange Brew Coffeehouse's first location on Highway 12 will remain open, Reed said.

"The original location is going to be the same amazing drive through option, and the Midtown location will be more of a 'come sit a while' feel," Reed said.

A second Instagram and Twitter account was made for the Midtown location, and it can be found at @SBCoho for more updates
