The OCH Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees agreed during executive session to have a special call meeting on May 24 at 4 p.m. to discuss potential affiliation with another hospital system.

The entities interested in affiliation are University of Mississippi Medical Center, North Mississippi Health Services and Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation.

CEO and Administrator for OCH Richard Hilton said the meeting is for a “next step discussion.”

“The board will review and decide what to do after we have a discussion on the responses to the presentations that were made,” Hilton said.

Earlier this month, the trustees hosted three different meetings for each entity to provide presentations based on questions the board provided them.

Each presentation was held in executive session.

Hilton said he does not expect a decision to be made on May 24, but there will be a more clear answer as to when a decision will be made after this meeting.
